Attracting New Customers: Finding the Best Promotional Swag

Given the depth of experience I have creating new and unique products customers often reach out to me for swag ideas they can use at conferences, conventions or trade shows to capture the attention and interest of new customers while differentiating themselves from their competitors.  Before you start exploring the vast array of giveaway options out there…and there are a LOT, know your audience.  This isn’t a new concept, just one that tends to be forgotten as you start looking at all of the interesting and cool stuff to buy, brand and give away.

Ask yourself, what type of customers do you want to attract and what you do want them to know about your business?  Answering these questions can help you narrow down the type of giveaway products that will be right for your company or event.  Is your potential customer tech-savvy?  Maybe consider branding Bluetooth speakers, chargers, phone holders or privacy camera covers.  Do they enjoy wine or hosting small private events? Maybe consider a branded wine kit, drink-ware, wineglass charms or coasters.  The right gift will ensure that your message stays top of mind for months or years to come as your customer uses your gift and shares it with others.

If it is innovative and eye-catching, your gift may even make a debut into social media in fun posts by your new customer, expanding your marketing message even further than the people you connected with in person. Don’t just pick a traditional or boring product to represent your company to potential new customers.  Get creative and think of something that will help you truly connect with them.  How do you find innovative ideas to make you stand out from your competitors?  As you know, at The LaserGeek we are all about finding new ways to test the limits of creativity and sometimes logic.  Working with a company that is built on showmanship, presentation and amazing audiences and customers with reactions of “how is that possible” means that we can help you find or even design a product that will catch the attention and interest of your next customer.
